Brian Kalliecharan, working hard for you in Barrie–Springwater–Oro-Medonte
Brian Kalliecharan is a dental surgeon, local business owner, philanthropist, educator and coach. The son of two hardworking parents from Trinidad and Tobago, he immigrated to Canada from England as a child with his family, and now proudly calls Barrie home.
Brian is a job creator with business savvy. He earned his MBA at Kellogg’s School of Business, Northwestern University. He has owned two successful dental practices. He’ll work closely with Justin Trudeau to continue to grow the economy by providing employment opportunities for every Canadian.
Healthcare accessibility is close to Brian’s heart. He spearheaded the development of Simcoe County’s first non-profit dental care centre, providing dental care to vulnerable populations and hands-on experience for learning practioners.
Devoted to public service, and as a former Ambassador for WE Charity, Brian’s philanthropic work has taken him across the globe. Locally, he has served as Chair of the Barrie Community Health Centre’s homelessness response team and has worked as an instructor at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
Dedicated to education, Brian has worked with McMaster University’s Access Strategy Team to create and fund the H.O.P.E scholarship, which provides access to education for individuals from under-represented and non-traditional backgrounds. He has also taught clinical dentistry at both Georgian College and George Brown College.
Committed to the environment, Brian implemented one of the first environmentally-friendly water filtration systems in Central Ontario dentistry.
A life-long learner, Brian has post-graduate certificates in Executive Coaching and Conflict Management. In his free time, he loves to be physically active, enjoying running, white-water rafting, yoga and Pilates.
He has proven himself as a community leader in Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte, and he’ll bring his high-energy, passion for redefining what is possible, and unyielding commitment to change to Parliament.
